Denning House is located southwest of Stanford's main campus and adjacent to Lake Lagunita, an artificial dry lake and natural area. The new building serves as the hub for the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program, a group of 100 high-achieving graduate students from diverse backgrounds with demonstrated leadership skills and a civic commitment, with the goal of developing a new generation of global leaders.

The building sits delicately in a grove of existing mature Oak trees. A new landscape of drought-tolerant native plants and transplanted large Oaks, a grand wooden entry boardwalk, and bike parking,  welcomes scholars and distinguished guests.
